The last time I visited was in February, and since then, a LOT has changed. When the attractions here in Orlando begun to reopen, I found a lot of reviews and information about their safety measures, but I haven’t found much information about Discovery Cove, so I decided to go check it out, and believe I have a TON of questions and concerns.

Quando as atrações aqui em Orlando começaram a reabrir, eu encontrei muita informação sobre as medidas de segurança dos maiores parques temáticos mas eu não vi quase nada sobre o Discovery Cove, então eu decidi ir conferir pessoalmente.
1 – SOCIAL DISTANCE IN STYLE

Discovery Cove never felt crowded, but now the chairs are further apart, preventing groups from gathering.
If you are looking to social distance, even more, you will love the cabanas! It is the ultimate social distancing.
Cabanas are an add-on that I highly recommend you guys to take a look at. Discovery Cove cabanas fit six people comfortably, have a water view, and comes with everything you need to have a perfect day. There is no better way to social distance.
Esse parque nunca foi lotado, mas agora você vai notar que as espreguiçadeiras estão separadas.
Se você quer ainda mais distancimento, você pode alugar uma das cabanas.
É uma despesa extra que eu SUPER recomendo. As cabanas do Discovery Cove cabem seis pessoas confortavelmente, e possuem uma vista maravilhosa. Além disso elas incluem tudo o que você precisa para ter uma dia perfeito. Não existe distanciamento social melhor.

When I say ALL-inclusive, I really mean it. The base ticket to Discovery Cove includes breakfast, lunch, parking, towels, and even animal friendly sunscreen!
Due to the park’s added safety measures, the day ticket also includes face coverings and hand sanitizer.
There are add-ons you can purchase, like my beloved Cabanas. Still, you can have a phenomenal day with or without spending extra money.
Some of my favorite add-ons are:
Quando eu digo tudo, eu quero realmente quero dizer TUDO. O ingresso básico do Discovery Cove (sem nunhum upgrade) inclui café da manhã, almoço, estacionamento, toalhas e até protetor solar.
Agora, nessa época de Covid, também inclui máscara e álcool em gel.
Existem upgrades que você paga à parte, como as minhas amadas cabanas, mas você não precisa gastar nada extra para aproveitar o seu dia.

Discovery Cove Dolphin Swim
Face Coverings are mandatory to participate in this activity and groups required to maintain social distance.
The biggest change is that you don’t actually get to swim with the dolphin anymore, BUT you will spend more time interacting with them. Fair trade in my book.
Another minor modification is one of the photo opps. You don’t kiss the dolphin anymore, instead the dolphin pretend to kiss you.
I asked if that was to protect the dolphins, and the trainers informed me that it is to protect us. Dolphins don’t contract covid, which is great to hear.
You are allowed to lower your face covering for pictures.
Para participar dessa atividade, o uso de máscaras é obrigatório e os grupos tem que manter o distanciamento social.
A maior mudança é que agora você não nada com o golfinho, em compensação, você passa muito mais tempo interagindo com eles.
Outra alteração (mínima) é a foto em que você beija o golfinho, agora é o golfinho que finge te dar um beijinho.
Eu perguntei se isso era para proteger o golfinho, mas é para nos proteger. Imagina se todos beijassem o golfinho? O treinador me informou que golfinhos não contraem Covid.
Você pode abaixar a máscara durante as fotos.
Premium Drink Package
Discovery Cove offers beer and wine during lunch (included), but if you plan to drink more than that, I recommend the Premium Drink Package.
It includes specialty drinks and more variety when it comes to beer and wine.
Por $40 você tem direito a drinks alcoolicos que incluem coquetéis ilimitados. Se você pretende beber no parque pode ser uma boa porque comprar individualmente sai caro.
Cerveja e vinho (pequenos) estão incluidos com o almoço.
Seaventure – Sea Walk Tour
It is an underwater sea walk (18 feet deep) while wearing a helmet that made me feel like an astronaut.
I was SO scared to try this activity! I was very anxious beacuse I do have claustrophobia. It took two tries, but I was able to participate.
The team was amazing, and talked me through it. I would do this again in a heartbeat.
You get to some amazing close encounters with rays, sharks, and TONS of fish.
Also important to note, the helmets were sanitized in front of us which I really appreciate.
No Seaventure você usa um capacete de mergulho que te permite respirar normalmente.
Eu estava morrendo de medo e super anxiosa porque eu tenho claustrophobia. Tive que tentar duas vezes para conseguir participar.
A equipe foi ótima e trabalhou comigo para me acalmar. Eu faria essa atividade novamente em um piscar de olhos.
Você vê de pertinho diversas arraias, peixes e até tubarão. Super legal visitar o ambiente deles.
Importante dizer que o Discovery Cove desinfetou todos os capacetes na nossa frente.

I set some rules; if when we see people gathering, we step back.
If there is any activity that we feel uneasy participating in, we won’t go. I also carry Clorox wipes with me whatever we go, and will use to disinfect things as needed.
I’m happy to report that Discovery Cove is doing a phenomenal job. As soon as you get there you will receive a pouch with a facevocering and hand sanitizer
I saw them cleaning surfaces frequently, and they explained to me how they clean their snorkle equipment which made me comfortable to use it.
Nós temos as seguintes regras: se encontrarmos uma situação onde a gente não se sinta 100% confortável, vamos embora.
Além disso eu sempre tenho lencinho desinfetante para limpezas emergências.
Eu estou feliz em falar que o Discovery Cove está fazendo um ótimo trabalho. Assim que você chega, eles te dão uma bolsinha contendo uma máscara e também alcool em gel.
Eu vi os funcionários limpando superficies com frequencia e eles me explicaram como é feita a limpeza do equipamento de mergulho, o que ajudou a me acalmar.
