I never imagined myself saying this out loud, but here it is; I am okay about my favorite Disney event (MNSSHP) not happening this year. 

Let me be real with you guys when Disney first announced that MNSSHP was canceled for 2020, I understood the reasons, but that doesn’t mean I did shed a tear or twenty.

Disney recently announced that although their famous Halloween party is not happening, they are still celebrating Halloween 2020.

Let me tell you 5 reasons be excited about Disney World Halloween 2020!

1 – IT DOES NOT REQUIRE A SEPARATE TICKET

I love this idea! Everyone visiting the park between Set. 15th-Oct. 31st will get to celebrate Halloween.

2 – DISNEY WORLD HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

When I heard the news that Disney canceled MNSSHP, I was so sad because I would have to skip a year of our Halloween family picture. I can look at past pictures and see how much my kids have grown.

It is like they heard me! Disney announced that guests will be allowed to wear their Halloween costumes to visit the Magic Kingdom (Set. 15th – Oct. 31st). BEST NEWS EVER!!!

There is only one problem, I haven’t planned our costumes yet, since I thought Halloween 2020 was canceled.

3 – CHARACTERS WEARING HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

I was never into taking pictures with the characters during MNSSHP. I cannot see myself waiting for two hours to have my photo taken with Jack Skellington, but this is VERY important for some of my friends.

Although meet and greets are still not happening, Disney planned a Halloween-themed cavalcade with characters wearing their favorite Halloween costumes.

It will be amazing if they include some of the most sought-after characters, like Moana, Jack Skellinton, and the 7 Dwarfs. I would LOVE that!

If Disney wants to up their magic shot game, it would be great to have the opportunity to take virtual pictures with the characters. I mean, since a real photo is not happening soon, I think this could be a fun alternative.

4 – FALL TREATS

This year we will find special fall treats in all four theme parks, and maybe I will finally be able to eat them all!

I am especially excited for the Madame Leota Sipper, the Headless Horseman Rides Again float, the Rotten Apple Punch Specialty Beverage, and the Poisoned Candied Apple.

5 – LIMITED CAPACITY

I remember the days when MNSSHP was the equivalent of empty parks; that is not the case anymore. Every year the park keeps getting busier and busier.

I know that WDW limited capacity won’t last forever, and I hope things go back to normal ASAP, but meanwhile I will enjoy the empty theme parks while it lasts.
